Legacy Sonicorbiter OS v2.5 - v2.9 sonicTransporter guide
This guide is for sonicTransporter music servers running Sonicorbiter OS 3.0 and later.
You can also type the sonicTransporter's own address into your browser: http://sonictransporter- followed by its four-character ID and .local, for example http://sonictransporter-ab12.local. The ID is shown on sonicorbiter.com.
Everything is on one page. Active shows what is running, Available shows player apps you can switch to, and Tools holds System Settings, Software Manager and Drive Manager. Changes take effect right away. There is no Save button.
Open System Settings → Server Apps and turn on the servers you want. Roon Core Server is already on; the others are off to start with. Servers with their own web page open it when you tap their icon. Among them:
Click Drive Manager. From there you can:
Every mounted drive is also shared on your network, so you can copy music from your computer. On Windows, open \\sonictransporter-ab12\InternalStorage (using your unit's own name). On a Mac, use Finder → Go → Connect to Server and enter smb://sonictransporter-ab12.local. The user name is sonicorbiter and the default password is password. The web page reminds you to change it until you do.
With Roon, connect your USB DAC and, in the Roon app, go to Settings → Audio. The DAC is listed with the devices connected to your Roon Core. Enable it and give it a name.
A sonicTransporter starts with its player apps and DAC Diagnostics hidden, since it is usually used as a server. To play from another app, show it in System Settings → Player Apps and Tools, then tap it under Available.
Click Software Manager. If an update is available, click Install, then Confirm install. The sonicTransporter restarts by itself when it is done. Your settings and music are kept, and if the new version does not start, it goes back to the previous one by itself.
